Recognizing the entrepreneurial spirit of its customers,
SED believes a dif cult economy opens new opportuni-
ties for dealers to succeed. “It’s just like anything else
in business,” said Jonathan Elster, EVP of SED Interna-
tional, “The companies that do the best job meeting the
needs of their customers, ultimately providing the most
value, will succeed”.
Rick Sanchez, Sales Manager for SED’s Dallas of ce,
noted that in tough times, consumers and businesses
alike are looking for ways to cut costs, not to stop
spending. “This is where dealers should focus: show their

customers how to cut their expenses by doing more
business with them!” Sanchez said. “The speci cs de-
pend on who the customer is and what the dealer’s busi-
ness model is.” One idea he mentioned was to show
a small business how, by adding a server, they can reduce
costs in other areas of their business while increasing
ef ciencies that bring in new business.
SED also plans to do its part by increasing value to its
customers and helping to show ways to capitalize and
uncover opportunities. “When the going gets tough, the
tough get going….that is a motto we take seriously,” said
Barry Diamond, SED’s VP of Product Management. “We
are working hard with our vendors to bring even better
deals to our customers. This is a major focus for us right
now”.
“We already have numerous promos and special offers
for our customers,, said Rob Kalman, VP of Market-
ing for SED. “But we are not ever satis ed that there is
enough. Our attitude is to constantly pursue more rea-
sons for dealers to want to do business with us”. Kalman
pointed out the SED Rewards™ program (see page 3) and
Instant Savings Coupons (throughout this paper) as two
examples of real value that SED provides to its customers
currently.
